The International Youth Training “Debating, Dialogue and Actionable Solutions” took place from 10–15 September 2025 in Krushevo, North Macedonia, bringing together 19 young participants aged 20 to 35. Hosted by CET Platforma Skopje under the TUNE 2025 annual plan, the training gathered youth from across Europe to strengthen their debating, public speaking, and community engagement skills.
The first day, participants took part in extensive team building exercises and for the rest of the week they focused on key themes related to debating. Building on a foundational understanding of debate, they learnt the roles of proposition and opposition, distinguishing between a topic and a thesis, and exploring different communication styles. Additionally, they strengthened their public-speaking abilities through an informative workshop and a simulated council debate. The final session connected theory to practice by guiding participants on how to turn debate outcomes into concrete local actions. This included an introduction to logical fallacies, familiarization with the British Parliamentary debating style, and the creation of local action plans addressing issues within their communities.
The highlight of the training was the simulated council debate, followed by the development of Local Action Plans aimed at turning dialogue into concrete community initiatives. The majority of participants noted that the training met their learning needs and boosted their motivation to foster constructive public debate in their own contexts. The event concluded with strong group cohesion and a shared commitment to applying their newly gained skills beyond Krushevo.
